Mountain Passes
Mono County is home to three of the highest mountain passes in California – Tioga Pass, Sonora Pass, and Monitor Pass – which join the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range with the west. Open seasonally, usually from late May through mid-November, these well-maintained, paved roads offer dramatic vistas right from the windshield.
