Virginia Lakes, the area north of Lee Vining clustered with lakes at the foot of towering 12,375-foot Dunderberg Peak, is a beautiful and remote place to hike and fish in spring, summer and fall. The Virginia Lakes Trail begins at the end of Virginia Lakes Rd. A variety of trails in this area range from easy to strenuous, and some eventually connect to Yosemite National Park.
