California’s Great Beyond

Sonora Pass

Highway 108 (Sonora Pass Road) runs east-to-west through rugged National Forest lands across the Sierra Range connecting Mono and Tuolumne Counties. It is narrow and steep in spots (not recommended for long or large vehicles). Summer offers access to fishing, road biking, horseback riding, hiking, fall color viewing and camping. Winter access is limited to snowmobiles because the road is not plowed.
