Deadman Campground is divided into upper and lower sections with 15 sites in each. Located about two miles off Highway 395 between Mammoth Lakes and June Lake, it's a twenty-minute drive from services yet quite tucked away in the wilderness. Recreational opportunities include OHV/ATV trails and hiking around the area's fascinating volcanic rock landforms. Fishing in Owens River tributary creeks is nearby. To reach the campground exit west off Highway 395 at the Obsidian Dome exit about 8 miles north of Mammoth Lakes. Sites have no bear lockers or running water, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
