Green Creek Trail

One of the most easily reached backpacker lakes in the Yosemite area and located in Northern Mono County, this hike offers some wonderful landscapes and relatively easy terrain. The hike offers a wide variety of vergatation and views, including that of down-canyon from the multi-step climb to Green Lake. At a total of 6.2 miles out-and-back, this easy to moderate hike takes an average of 2-4 hours. Best done June-September, and with a moderate elevation gain of 910 feet, this hike is sure to please the entire group. Best to leave out of the Bridgeport Area and Green Creek Road, this trailhead is easily accessible and a great one for beignning backpackers and hikers alike. Make sure you contact the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest for more information or stop by their visitor center just south of Bridgeport, CA.
