A small, pretty fishing lake just south of Bridgeport, Ca., Dynamo Pond was originally built in the 1890s to serve as a water supply for a hydroelectric plant to provide electricity to Bodie. Find Dynamo Pond by driving about five miles south of Bridgeport on Highway 395; then turn west onto Green Creek Road and drive for another four miles.
