Another postcard perfect destination in Mono County. This well traveled trail is moderate and starts with a slight incline from the parking lot and into some switch-backs up and over the first section. With a level section followed by another set of switch-backs, Lake George soon becomes visible on your left with Crystal Crag towering above. Crystal Lake is then just a short ways away, sitting directly below the Crag. With a total of 3 miles, this out-and-back trail is the perfect hike during the summer and fall seasons. The beginning elevation for this trail sits at just about 9,000 feet and a total elevation gain of about 750 feet. Crystal Lake Trail sits in the Inyo National Forest Mammoth Ranger District. For more information, please visit the Inyo National Forest Visitor Center or the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center for trail updates and information. This hike is also a great one for dog owners!
