Mono County 2010 Fishing Season News & Stocking Updates (NEW INFO as of 7/20/2010)

-All of Mono County's lakes and streams opened for fishing on Saturday, April 24, 2010.

-Silver Lake in June Lake has been cleared for stocking.

-In the Mammoth Lakes Basin, Twin Lakes (Upper and Lower) has been approved for stocking and is scheduled to be stocked this week, 7/12/2010

-Also in the Mammoth Lakes Basin, Lake Mary, Mamie and Lake George have been cleared for stocking and have been stocked each week, for the past two weeks.

-The recent decision by the CA Department of Fish & Game (DFG) to delay stocking fish in some Eastern Sierra waters will have no impact on the quality of fishing this 2010 season.  Click here for DFG's latest list of waters approved for fish stocking.

-Several tons of fish were planted in Eastern Sierra lakes and streams at the end of the 2009 fishing season, including 4,000 pounds of Alpers trout.

DFG is in the process of evaluating and approving bodies of water for fish stocking in Mono County for the 2010 fishing season.  Here is the most recent list of waters in Mono County that have been approved for stocking by DFG:
