Sage brush
and small Pinion pine trees are the local ground cover here in the Antelope
Valley. Higher up the hillsides and along the river there are Jeffrey
Pine and Aspen.
Although tourism is the primary industry in this area,
ranching is still an active enterprise in the valley. You'll see large
herds of cattle,
horses and sheep on ranches all along Highway 395. |

Tourists
find their way here from
all over the world. Most are on their way to Yosemite, Death Valley or
Las Vegas.
Many residents work
for the
County,
State
or Federal
Government.
You'll find all the services you may require while in the area:
motels, restaurants,
grocery
stores, service
stations, realtors, galleries, trading posts, flower shops,
sporting goods and pack stations.
Keep your eyes open next time you are down this way. You just
never know what type of wildlife you will spot
along the road. |
