Near the intersection of Highway 108 and Highway 395 south of the town of Walker, Ca., the West Walker River cuts through a deep canyon gorge for about 10 miles. Waters flow fast during spring run-off (be aware!) and are stocked with trout annually. Several campgrounds are located in the area, which has easy highway access. Popular for mid-summer stream fishing or vibrant fall colors.
