Saddlebag Lake is a high-country launch point for Sierra recreation. At over 10,000 feet, it's one of the highest lakes accessible by road in the Eastern Sierra — and a gateway to the spectacular 20 Lakes Basin wilderness. We're here to help visitors with practical knowledge and essentials. Whether you're heading out for a day of fishing, hiking into the basin, or just soaking in the alpine scenery — we want to make your time in the mountains easier and better. We're rebuilding and improving services each season, adding what matters most: reliable information, quality essentials, and warm mountain hospitality. The Saddlebag Lake water taxi is one of the great shortcuts in the Sierra. Instead of hiking the trail around the lake, hop aboard for quick access to the far shore — and from there, the 20 Lakes Basin, backcountry trails, and alpine scenery that's hard to match anywhere.
