Since 1998, Mono County has owned approximately 800 acres at the base of Conway Summit which was acquired with grant funds from Caltrans, California State Parks and National Fish & Wildlife Foundation.  The primary uses of the property are grazing, fish rearing, habitat preservation, and open space preservation.  Public access to Conway Ranch is permitted, but is restricted within the aquaculture area. A Conservation Easement for the Conway Ranch was entered into on December 1, 2014.  The easement was a result of a year of public outreach and meetings with stakeholders, and will inform future developments of the property.
