Talented textile artist Elysia Fischbach will guide us through the essentials of modern round weaving by creating weavings on 8-inch metal hoops. We will learn different weaving techniques and use a variety of gorgeous textured fibers to create our textile art piece - how to wrap and warp your metal hoop using cotton cord and string, how to pick out your color palette and fibers, tabby stitch, soumak stitch, roving bubbling, looped rya and rya knots, lark's head knot, cleaning up fiber ends, and finishing.

In this class, MAC will provide:
– A glass of wine, beer, sparkling water, etc
– All supplies needed to create an 8" metal hoop of woven art: (8-inch metal hoop, cotton cord and string to wrap and warp your hoop, embroidery needle, many different colorful and textured fibers to choose from, a small wooden stand to take home for your weaving if you do not want to hang it on a wall)
