Discover the mystery of Mono Lake's strange water and wildlife. South Tufa walks happen on weekends at 1:00pm and last about an hour. This is a federal fee area ($3 per person), but the walks are no additional charge.

Saturdays & Sundays at 1:00pm

leaders: Mono Lake Committee, Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve, Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association, and US Forest Service (your guide will be from one of these organizations)

directions: 5 miles south of Lee Vining, turn on Highway 120 East toward Benton. After 5 miles turn left at the South Tufa sign and follow the signs to South Tufa.
