Bridgeport, California invites you to their 16th annual Founder’s Day Celebration, sponsored by the local businesses and the Mono County Tourism and Film Commission. Four days of fun and history will take over this quaint, little town during Labor Day weekend, September 1 – 4.

Folks will enjoy the craggy Sawtooth Ridge view while cheering on all manner of Ranch Roping Competition sponsored by Centennial Livestock at the Centennial Arena, west end of town. This popular event has expanded to keep spectators on the edge of their seats all 4 days! Catch the old-fashioned wagon rides to get around town Sat/Sun! 

Friday evening the 1st, Bridgeport comes alive for the Main Street “Walk-A-Bout.” This is a delightful Bridgeport Elementary School affair in which local businesses, restaurants, and shops share food and drink samples as visitors try their luck in raffles and more. 

Exclusively on Saturday the 2nd, the vintage Quilt Show will fill the Memorial Hall, proudly displaying a great many exquisite quilts, some aged over 100 years. Don't miss your opportunity to win this year's spectacular quilt, made uniquely for Founder’s Day! Raffle tickets sold around town. 

"Stampede" with the best Saturday morning from the Courthouse. Adults compete in 10k and 15k footraces while kids participate in dashes. A 5k walk will also be in motion. 

Arts & Crafts booths will set up under the shady trees on the Courthouse lawn Saturday and Sunday while returning “Westwind” band and local speakers entertain from the stage. Kids free pastimes keep growing with the addition of a couple of mini golf lanes the goal this year. 

“Big Meadows," now known as Bridgeport charms residents and visitors alike with its stunning views and Victorian architecture. At noon Sat/Sun, join the guided walking tour inside the 1880 Mono County Courthouse. See gorgeous woodwork there then explore the 1883 Bridgeport Jail, Community Church, Firehouse with Smokey Bear and the Mono County Museum, housed in the original Big Meadows School House of 1880. 

Western Night hosted by the Fishin’ Mission Foundation tops off Saturday with great food from Cowboy Flavor and Live Music! This dinner directly supports Bridgeport schools and other community needs. Tickets sell quickly at Ken’s Sporting Goods and www.fishin-mission-foundation.org.

The 16th Annual Founder’s Day Presentation Dinner, Raffle and Auction is on Sunday night, the 3rd at the Bridgeport Community Hall.

On Monday morning, volunteers will set off from Bridgeport Park for the East Walker River Cleanup effort, working up an appetite for the BBQ afterwards. The Fishin’ Mission Foundation, Ken’s Sporting Goods and Walker River Outfitters host this enjoyable event. This and the final day of the Centennial Ranch Roping Competition will wind up 4 days of pure fun in Bridgeport. You won't want to miss a thing!
