People have been walking through Mono County for centuries. For years, it was about the only way to get around. Today, it's a favorite passtime for vacationers.

Trailheads will lead you to fishing holes, mountain glaciers, spectacular views and quiet solitude. If you're in for the long haul, you may pass through on the Pacific Crest Trail or the John Muir Trail.

In addition to the Sierra Nevada, you also have the White Mountains as well as the Owen's Valley to trek through.

No matter which trail you take, be sure to take a camera as well.
